TELL IT LIKE IT ISN'T

by atyp fresh ink writers

Studio 1, atyp. February 2011

A short, sharp, evocative collection of monologues written by young people, for young people.

Developed at the National Studio and commissioned by atyp, these 11 monologues revolved around the theme of 'first love'.

REVIEWS:

"Teenage angst minus the cliches...the danger of a performance of unrelated monologues is that it could become uneven or disjointed, and it is to the credit of directors Luke Kerridge and Lachlan Philpott that this is not the case...Outstanding."

-Australian Stage

"Innovative...impressive...a great mix of energised and talented performers working with cutting edge, sharp and often humourous contemporary writing"

-Sydney Arts Guide

"Riveting monologues...linked by some inventive and often amusing transition...the work comes across as a series of closely connected plays...moments of revelation are carried along by the performers whose enthusiasm is perfectly reined in by directors Luke Kerridge and Lachlan Philpott. A standout production."
