JUNIOR ENSEMBLE PRODUCTIONS:

SHOPFRONT

During my time as Artistic Associate at Shopfront Contemporary Arts Centre I directed two productions with the Junior Ensemble - a group of young people aged between 5 and 15 years who work together for two terms to devise an original work.

At the end of the process the young people work with a team of professional artists to deliver a full production.

Imagine a future where toys are sent to the scrapheap. A future where memories are abandoned for the next shiny gadget, and there are no trees left to climb.

REVIEW:

"Truly beautiful ensemble work assisted by professional artists... to create a philosophical and sensitive exploration into the journey of being comfortable with oneself and the adventures ahead...

As I leave the theatre that evening I am struck, yet again, how deeply philosophical and reassuring children can be. How their talents and ideas are not to be underestimated – and how the force of creativity and imagination must not be ever taken for granted."
